T FORGET TO FOLLOW THE ABOVE 4 POINTS AS A SOURCE OF SECONDARY INCOME

I am in the field of Computers from past 16 years and during this period I had learnt many things and from the beginning itself I was very fond of learning Computer Programming and at present I am developing Software programs for various Govt. Sectors. And regarding the Internet business, I started my internet career about 5 years ago and since then I have learnt a lot from this Internet thing.

Almost 80% of Internet users search for ‘How to make money online?‘ and so I decided to create a niche website to tell you about the most of earning money online.

make money online How to Make Money Online A Stable Income Tip !

Make Money Online

Since, this is my first post describing this niche, I just wanted to tell you the ‘Basics of Internet Career’ and what is all about ‘Earning Money Online‘.

So guys, have you ever thought that how most of the publishers earn their living only with a few sites they develop. Most of them are under the free site providers like Blogger, WordPress.com, etc. The main success behind such Publishers is just their hard work and patience.

I have seen many publishers who are earning more than $144K per month, so how this happened? Actually, they are writing under a proper niche and that too continuously, within time the reputation of their site increases in search engines and they start earning regular income from their blogs/websites. For more information about finding your niche, refer to my article regardingList of High Paying Adsense Categories for your Niche Website.

Regarding Adsense, its a very big deal to make a good standing account with Adsense because Google won’t spare a single second to ban your account if you have made a single mistake in following Adsense TOS.

But, what if you haven’t done any mistake and Adsense disabled your account, so as with many genuine Publishers. Always make an alternate source of online Income like:

  1. Sell online products.
  2. Sell your own ebooks or products.
  3. Become Affiliate Marketer, through which many publishers are earning their livelihood.
  4. Always use Adsense Alternative Publisher accounts, don’t ever depend on a single firm as Adsense.

If you follow the above tips, you will always have a backup of your Income Source, and if something odd happens with Adsense account, you will gain a regular income from other sources.

But, I recommend making a good standing with your Adsense account as this is a Genuine Publishing network and pays the most share which comes form its advertisers.

Now, what about the Stable Income? Its a must have like problem for almost all of the Publishers who are beginners in this field. don’t worry guys, I will try to solve this problem also, rest depends on your work and writing capabilities.

The income which is coming regularly is called Stable Income, but when this income multiplies itself per month then its called a GOOD STABLE INCOME, so how to earn a good stable income, its very easy… just follow this tip:

HAVE PATIENCE AND UPDATE YOUR SITE DAILY WITH NICHE AND QUALITY CONTENT

DON’T FORGET TO FOLLOW THE ABOVE 4 POINTS AS A SOURCE OF SECONDARY INCOME

After a certain time, you will be getting a regular income, and please don’t blame me if you are not writing proper articles, not updating your blog regularly and expecting to get a good income.

Moreover, many of us think that Google Panda update has eaten my visitors, but my personal opinion about this blog and the visitors is that after recent Panda Update, every genuine publisher is getting targeted users, and I am watching my blog since the last update and I have seen a drastic increase in returning visitors and also new ones, that too targeted.

Burt’s Bees Cranberry & Pomegranate Sugar Scrub: How Sweet It Is To Be Scrubbed by You

I find it both hilarious and totally fitting that Burt’s Bees Cranberry & Pomegranate Sugar Scrub ($13 for an 8-oz. jar) has a warning on the label that reads, “do not consume.” Seriously, they have to tell you not to eat the product because it looks and smells THAT good — like a jar of berry-licious preserves or a sugary frozen treat.

burts bees do not consume

burts bees cranberry pomegranate sugar scrub closeup

I dug into it when I jumped in the shower after I got home from the airport last night. I noticed on the list of ingredients (it’s 100% natural) that it contains a BUNCH of different oils, among them soybean, coconut, cranberry, olive and grape seed. The Zia Skin Basics Bamboo Exfoliant I was happily using last week just didn’t seem hydrating enough to restore the moisture that had been sucked from my skin by the recirculated air on the plane.

Sugar, soybean oil and cranberry oil are the top ingredients, and I swear I can feel all three. The product’s certainly rich, yet I can still feel the tiny grains of what I assume are sugar. They do have some grit to them, but they’re nowhere near as painful abrasive as the grains in Zia’s Bamboo (they may get the job done but feel like torture in a tube!).

Ingredients: sucrose, glycine soja (soybean) oil, crambe abyssinica seed oil, silica, zea mays (corn) starch, olea europaea (olive) fruit oil, helianthus annuus (sunflower) seed oil, cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, vitis vinifera (grape) seed oil, butyrospermum parkii (shea) butter, parfum (fragrance), vaccinium macrocarpon (cranberry) seed, vaccinium macrocarpon (cranberry) fruit juice, punica granatum seed oil, vaccinium macrocarpon (cranberry) fruit powder, mel (honey, miel), hydrolyzed soy protein, tocopherol, aqua (water, eau), magnesium hydroxide, citric acid, limonene, geraniol

My skin sent me a thank you card this morning for using this stuff last night! :) It leaves behind a thin, oily film, but if that’s what you’re looking, and in this case I was, you may not mind. For what it’s worth, at least it’s not sticky. :)

As a matter of fact, it left behind a slippery film at the bottom of the tub, a knock against it that might make it unsuitable for clumsy gals, parents with young children, and people with older folks at home.

Makeup and Beauty Blog Rating If you’re into oily exfoliants and 100% natural products, you might want to give this a sniff. The grains are a little gritty but not painfully so, and Tabs loves that Burt didn’t test the stuff on animals. Of course, he doesn’t spend much time in the shower, so he had no comment about the slippery film in the tub. :) Available at drugstores and online at burtsbees.com. Grade: A-

Interactive Drugstore Beauty Shopping

Thanks to French beauty brands like Vichy, your drugstore beauty shopping experience may be more interactive in the not-to-distant future.

The 77-year-old French skin care and makeup line, known for products formulated with mineral-rich waters, is leading the charge to change the drugstore beauty department experience by adding in-store beauty advisers and offering free samples and testers — perks previously reserved for boutiques and department store beauty counters.

Five years ago, Vichy introduced their products in CVS and Brooks Pharmacy drugstores in the US. Unlike other drugstore beauty lines that were stocked on regular store shelves, Vichy began selling its products through in-store “dermatological skin centers” staffed by trained beauty advisers.

Today, Vichy skin care centers can be found in select Rite Aid, CVS, Duane Reade and Longs Drugstore stores, and, by the end of this year, Vichy plans to have them in a total of 1,000 stores nationwide.

“The presence of the dermatological skin care centers has elevated drugstores’ beauty departments, noted Philippe Patsalides, general manager of Active Cosmetics USA, the L’Oral division that houses Vichy. Drugstores ‘are perceived as convenience stores, but they are working to change into beauty destinations.’”
- Women’s Wear Daily

Remember the rise of beauty vending machines a few months ago? Now we’ve got the opposite end of the customer service spectrum.

Although one of the reasons I like shopping at drugstores is the fact that I can browse without really having to interact with legions of salespeople, I like the notion of having a beauty adviser available if I have questions.

I haven’t been to a drugstore with a Vichy dermatological skin center yet, but I’m looking forward to checking ‘em out.

What do you think about staffed drugstore beauty counters? Do you think they might lead to higher prices? Would you prefer to shop drugstores on your own?

Skin + Bones- An Interview with Brooke Hodge

Skin + Bones: An Interview with Brooke Hodge

Unfortunately, the groundbreaking exhibition “Skin and Bones: Parallel Practices in Fashion and Architecture” at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles is now over. Thus, this post is dedicated to those who were not lucky enough (like me) to have had the opportunity to experience the visual discourse between fashion and architecture as developed by MOCA’s Curator of Architecture & Design, Brooke Hodge.

Brooke graciously took a moment to talk to Fashion Projects about the relationship between these two disciplines and her inspirations in developing the exhibition. After reading this brief interview, head to FIT on April 18th to hear a panel discussion featuring Brooke Hodge, Patricia Mears (Deputy Director of the Museum at FIT and contributor to the Skin and Bones catalog) and others discuss fashion and architecture. More information follows this interview.

FP: You write that you explicitly realized the connections between fashion and architecture when you were curating a show on Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Gar?ons. What was it about her designs that got you thinking of the parallels between these two disciplines? In general, how important do you think the Japanese designers (Miyake, Yamamoto, Watanabe, etc.) are to this concept?

BH: When I was working on the Comme des Gar?ons show, I started to notice that the clothes were described using terms usually applied to architecture—structural, constructed, architectonic, sculptural, etc. This got me curious about other parallels.

I think the work of the Japanese designers, especially Yamamoto, Kawakubo, and Miyake, is very important to the idea that there are parallels between fashion and architecture. Yamamoto and Kawakubo were the first designers to explore ideas of deconstruction in their garments (in 1982) and to create clothes that were radically different from what we had been accustomed to and from what other designers were doing at the time. Miyake’s sculptural shapes and innovations with pleating have also been very influential for architects, especially Frank Gehry. Junya Watanabe’s influence is more recent but still very important.

While it is true that the point of origin for both fashion and architecture is the three-dimensional body, do you think that the vastly different scales and sense of permanence make for an antagonistic relationship?

I think that for many years architects considered fashion to be frivolous and superficial. However, with the rise to prominence of more intellectual designers like the Japanese designers mentioned above, I think architects have more respect for fashion and realize that there is inspiration to be gleaned from it. Both use flat materials to make volumetric forms. With the increased potential to make more complex curved forms in architecture, thanks to computer-aided design, architects are looking more to fashion for construction techniques that will enable them create more interesting surfaces and to shape more complex forms. I think there is still a little snobbery on the part of architects toward fashion because architecture is much more monumental and meant to last many years and fashion is still seen as something that changes every season. It’s interesting that several architects have experimented with ideas on the scale of clothing (Diller + Scofidio, J. Meejin Yoon, Elena Manferdini, to name a few) because it is an easier scale to work with and quicker and less expensive to complete something. In the case of Manferdini, these experiments in the area of fashion have been important for her architecture practice. The pavilion she designed for the Beijing Biennale incorporated the process, tools, and motifs she has worked with in her clothing designs.

You state that the two main characteristics that fashion and architecture share are minimalism and deconstruction? In your mind, which characteristic bears the most fruitful dialogue?

Minimalism and deconstruction are two main STYLISTIC characteristics that fashion and architecture share but there are other important parallels. Deconstruction created the most important dialogue in terms of “style” since it had more impact in terms of creating potential for new forms of expression in both and was a much more radical shift in both fields. They both address basic human needs such as shelter and identity. I think the most fruitful dialogue is in the area of techniques of construction that are being adopted and adapted across the two disciplines.

The parallels between fashion and architecture are easily accepted by fashion scholars Coach Factory Online, perhaps in part because it lends a sophisticated legitimacy to a field known for its whims. However, do you think that the links between these two fields are as readily accepted (and desired) by architects and their critics?

I get the feeling that architecture critics (and some architects) are not yet ready to accept that there may be parallels between the two fields. This may be due to the snobbery toward fashion mentioned above. Also those who are less visually inclined may not be able to discern visual similarities between the two. None of the architects I contacted for the exhibition were reluctant to include their work in the show and most were very enthusiastic and mentioned their interest in fashion.

“Skin and Bones” is not the first exhibition to highlight the connections between fashion and architecture. In 1982 there was a groundbreaking exhibition at MIT titled “Intimate Architecture: Contemporary Clothing Design” curated by Susan Sidlauska. And this past year at the Center for Architecture in New York there was an exhibition titled “The Fashion of Architecture: Constructing the Architecture of Fashion,” curated by Bradley Quinn. How is “Skin and Bones” different from these past exhibtions?

Intimate Architecture was a definite inspiration for me. However, it did not include architecture—only garments that are architectural. The Fashion of Architecture was interesting in terms of the fashion it included but it too did not include much architecture at all. It also had an emphasis on fashion created by artists as well as some examples of clothes created by architects or by architects in collaboration with fashion designers. Skin + Bones is the first exhibition to examine the relationship between fashion and architecture in great depth with numerous examples from both fields.

A more recent connection between fashion and architecture is in the area of sustainability. Many fashion designers are following the lead of architects by attempting to use more ecological materials and processes. What do you think of this emerging parallel? Are there any other areas that you see emerging as a new dialectic between these two disciplines?

It would be great to see both fashion designers and architects truly use sustainable materials in a meaningful way that is accepted by the public. I think Testa & Weiser’s work with architectural applications for carbon fiber has a lot of potential for the future. I think architects are currently looking more at fashion and maybe we will see fashion begin to look at architecture more for inspiration.

Interview by Sarah Scaturro

If in London, don’t miss the Fashion in Film Festival Coach Factory Outlet Online, now in its second edition. Co-curated by Marketa Uhlirova and Christel Tsilibaris and titled “If Looks Could Kill Coach Factory Outlet Online Sale,” it tackles the links between fashion and crime in cinema–two inextricable themes, as the earliest incarnation of the cinematic woman of fashion—the vamp—perhaps starts to point out.

The festival takes place across the city in a number of different venues and shows an equally diverse range of films, from Dario Argento’s terrifying horror movie The Bird with the Crystal Plumage (1970) to Cindy Shermann’s “darkly humorous flick” Office Killer (1997), and the silent film series by Louis Feuillade Les Vampires (1915) starring Irma Vep—perhaps one of the earliest yet most compelling incarnations of the feminine criminal in film.

The impressive line-up of movies is matched by an equally impressive array of speakers, including the renowned film scholar Tim Gunning and the fashion designer Bella Freud, to name just two.

TV Fashion Recap: 2012 Olympics Opening Ceremony and Teen Wolf

Every other week, I break down the best of?TV fashion, featuring my three favorite looks from the last two weeks. This week, I was inspired by?the 2012?Summer Olympics Opening Ceremony in London?and the MTV show?Teen Wolf.?Read on to check out the outfits!

1. 2012 Summer Olympics Opening Ceremony: Neutrals, Lace, and Leather

Olympic Opening Ceremony Fashion Inspiration

London wowed the world with the 2012 Summer Olympics Opening Ceremony. Between the guest appearance from James Bond (Daniel Craig), the Queen’s surprise jump from an airplane, and the phenomenal choral music, I was immediately hooked.

But the real treat was?Isles of Wonder, a grand interpretation of the Industrial Revolution’s effects on the UK, directed by Danny Boyle. It used beautiful vocals, frenzied drumming, and large props to demonstrate the?pandemonium?of the time period, and then sped on through Britain’s recent history. Highlights included a silent tribute to soldiers killed during the World Wars, a colorful Beatles-themed marching band, and an assembly line forging an Olympic ring. Even if you aren’t a sports fan, it is definitely a must-watch.

The costumes were amazing and detailed, and I couldn’t help but notice that the clothing demonstrating rural England and the Industrial Revolution contained many trends that remain popular today. There were lots of neutrals, loose pieces, mixed metals, leather, and knitted fabric — all of which are hot now and for fall.

Outfit Inspiration 1: Sweet Summer Look

Olympic Opening Ceremony Summer Outfit
(Product Information: Cardigan – Tilly’s, Tank Top – Abercrombie, Bracelet – Armani Exchange, Purse – River Island, Skirt – Lipsy, Feather Ring – Aldo, Earrings – Piperlime, Necklace – Rare London coach shoe outlet, Shoes – Piperlime)

In?Isles of Wonder, the dancers and musicians wore lots of white, loose materials and neutral colors. The men favored cardigans and vests, while the women wore flowing skirts. The props they carried were primarily metal or leather. Pastels and purples were also key components of the heavily layered costumes.

To recreate the vibe, start with a loose tank and a neutral skirt. This Abercrombie tank is perfect because it has delicate paneling and a ruffled neckline, while this skirt?has sequin detailing reminiscent of the metalworking in the show.?Add a button-up cardigan, preferably in a purple hue, to add a pop of color and a bit of structure.

Now it’s time to accessorize! Delicate metal jewelry like a feather ring and bird necklace complement the outfit without distracting.?These nature-inspired accessories also reference the beginning of the show, which showcased the isles’ natural beauty. Slip on a pair of metallic heels to accentuate your legs, and don’t forget a nice leather satchel to complete the look!

Outfit Inspiration 2: ?Cozy Fall Look

Summer Olympics Opening Ceremony Fall Fashion Inspiration
(Product Information: Scarf – River Island, Cardigan – Gina Tricot, Top – Republic, Bracelet – ASOS, Watch – Macys, Boots – Debenhams, Necklace – Medieval Collectibles, Pants – Ted Baker, Purse – Dorothy Perkins)

While watching the opening ceremony, I was really inspired by the plethora of different fabric?textures. Costumes mixed leather, tweed, lace, knitting, crochet, and linen. The loose fabrics and layers are great inspiration for fall.

To capture the old-fashioned, effortless, and comfortable vibe of the opening ceremony, start with an oversized cable-knit sweater in a neutral color. This buttonless cardigan from Gina Tricot is perfect because of the interesting knit pattern and slouchy, open style. Pair it with a tank of a different texture; this beige lace top is perfect. Maroon skinny jeans add shape to the outfit and prevent it from looking too baggy.

For accessories, start with a stylish and functional brown leather satchel. Add a knitted scarf and miniature portrait necklace for a bit of the classic “British” look. ?Next coach shoe outlet, slip on a bronze watch and a metal bracelet reminiscent of the Olympic rings. Finish with leather boots – these are tall and structured, but have interesting slouches and buckles that tie in well with the rest of the outfit.

2. ?Teen Wolf (Season 2, Episode 9): Lydia’s Tied Crop Button Up & Retro Skirt

Teen Wolf Lydia's Retro Fashion

Though MTV’s Teen Wolf has already been featured as a TV fashion fave, it’s back by popular demand, and let’s be honest — Lydia pretty much deserves a spot every week for her trendy and eclectic style.

This episode focuses largely on Lydia’s birthday bash. Scott and Stiles desperately try to figure out who is controlling Jackson when he is in his reptilian killing-machine state, also known as the Kanima. Meanwhile, Scott and Allison’s relationship becomes even more strained and Allison’s family deals with the traumatic and ironic issue of her mother, a recently-bitten werewolf hunter slowly turning into a werewolf. ?Most importantly, though, we finally find out why Lydia is having hallucinations Coach factory outlet, forgetting large chunks of time, and generally going insane.

Lydia looked phenomenal (as always) in this episode, and while her terrifying hallucinations had me glued to the screen (and cringing), her crop top and ruffled skirt really stole the show. Her outfit was fun, flirty, and perfect for a summer date or evening out with friends.

Outfit Inspiration:

Lydia's Retro Outfit Inspiration
(Product Information: Bracelet – Debenhams, Top – House of Fraser, Bag – Forever 21, Skirt – Ally, Earrings – Endless, Belt – ASOS, Nail Polish – Essie coach handbags wholesale, Cocktail Ring – Republic, Heels – VJ Style, Flats – Sheinside)

In this episode, Lydia paired a button-up tie front top with a black A-line skirt for a fabulous and slightly retro look. To keep the focus on her gorgeous teal top, she kept her accessories minimal and neutral. The elegant nude and gold accessories also helped to add a bit of polish and sophistication to her outfit.

To recreate this look, start with a blue or green button-up top Coach Purses,?preferably?with interesting cut outs, like this one from House of Fraser. Unbutton the top slightly, like Lydia did, to emphasize your neckline. Next, add a flouncy black skirt to mimic Lydia’s retro vibe.

All that’s left to do is accessorize. Start with a white belt, pretty cocktail ring, and simple bag. While Lydia paired her outfit with white Macy’s shopping bags, this off-white hobo will do nicely. Finish with a pair of neutral heels or flats – your choice!

Your thoughts?

The Smart Girl’s Guide to Splurging on an &#

The Smart Girl’s Guide to Splurging on an “It” Item

Fashion splurges: Hermes Birkin, Christian Louboutins, Chanel bag, Cartier watch, Hermes scarf, Balenciaga bag

If you read this site regularly, it’s pretty obvious that you and I have one major thing in common — a passion for fashion! One of my favorite things about writing for CF is that this blog gives us a safe place to ask questions, hear what other girls our age think about crazy trends, and share fabulous tips with other like-minded fashionistas. This blog really is a community — we like to hear what you think about certain subjects just as much as we enjoy writing about them!

On that note, an important topic that most of us have on our mind to some degree is budgeting. Whether you support yourself or live off of a monthly stipend from your parents, it’s always a prudent decision to evaluate your financial state and make wise decisions based on some sort of system.

In this post, I’ll share with you some rules I follow to make sure I get the maximum benefit when I give in to the urge to splurge. Once you’re done reading these tips, I’d love to hear from you and learn other ways YOU save and spend wisely, so be sure to leave a comment!

“It” Items — Are They Worth It?

Chanel bag

Manolo Blahniks. Chanel 2.55 bags. Pucci scarves. Jeffrey Campbell Lita Boots. The legendary Hermes Birkin bag. You’ve perused the style blogs, and you’ve seen the celebs rock them. You might feel overwhelmed with lust for a particular piece, but do you love it enough for a long-term commitment?

Of course, the answer for each “it” piece will vary from person to person. For me, although my Litas were significantly more expensive than most of the other shoes I owned (priced around $150), their versatility and the way they stood out in my college town made them worth the splurge for me. On the other hand, I don’t think I could ever justify buying a Birkin bag, even if I was a millionaire! Running around $15,000 www.coachoutletonlineon.com, it takes some people many, many years to save up for one, then an additional wait time while their bag is made to order. Power to these ladies for their patience, but I know I don’t have that kind of dedication.

Considerations Before Splurging:
  • Think about cost per wear. CF has covered this concept before, and I always think about this when I’m out shopping. Take an item’s price and divide it by the number of times you think you’ll wear it that year. For example, I bought myself a pair of Ray Ban Wayfarers a few years ago. I literally used them every single day walking to class, unless it was raining or overcast. If I divided the cost by the amount of use I got out of them, ($160/250), the cost-per-wear on the sunglasses ends up being just $0.64 — and that was just for one year! This was a much more prudent purchase than all of those $18 sheer blouses I bought from Forever 21 and only wore twice before they fell apart in the wash.
  • Be wary about buying online. It’s far too easy to buy a knock-off or something misrepresented on eBay, so if you’re buying something major (like a premier designer bag or a pair of Jimmy Choos) I wouldn’t suggest it. Discount designer websites like Bluefly and Gilt Groupe are awesome because of the deep discounts, but the problem is that their selections are pretty limited. Personally, if I’m going to spend a lot of money on something, I like to make a day out of it — something about going to the department store, showing the sales associates that you’re actually there to buy, and getting your new item in a crisp shopping bag is so satisfying.

davidyurmanbracelet
David Yurman cuff bracelets — a popular “it” item on college campuses.

  • Purses and jewelry are probably a safe bet. The great thing about a classic watch or most “it” bags is that they never lose their appeal. Think about your aunt’s Louis Vuitton Speedy, your neighbor’s classic Tag Heuer, or your older sister’s cross-body Coach bag — they still probably look great, and are still top-sellers for each brand! The other great thing about splurging on a designer purse or certain pieces of jewelry is that you can use them every single day without looking weird — which will make the cost-per-wear ratio awesome!
  • Be careful with shoes. Black patent Louboutin pumps are fabulous, but only if they fit you perfectly and you know you’ll wear them regularly. There’s no sense in spending hard-earned cash on an item that you can only bust out of your closet twice a year (or that gives you blisters). Think before you spend on flats as well — they are certainly more wearable for most girls than 5-inch stilettos, but flats will wear out much more rapidly. I used to have a pair of Tory Burch flats I picked up at Off 5th, but less than a year later, they literally disintegrated and left black marks all over my feet!
  • Avoid really trendy items. Remember those J Brand skinny cargo pants? Or the Phillip Lim leather shorts? Yes, those pieces were as hot as ever last year, but you rarely see them anymore. Pick up really fashion-forward pieces at places like Forever 21 — no one will notice (or even care) whether they’re designer or not, and a year later, you can safely toss or donate them.

Emilio-Pucci-Scarf
Emilio Pucci Scarf

  • Would it fit your style? No matter the mystique a piece might carry, it’s not worth a dime if you know you won’t wear it. I’ve never worn a silky scarf in my life, so I don’t anticipate any Confessions of a Shopaholic Rebecca Bloomwood-esque moments in my near future. While we’re making confessions, though monster beats, here are a few of mine: I secretly hate the look of Louis Vuitton monogrammed bags. I have a strange crush on Tyler the Creator. I only wash my hair twice a week! Wow Coach Factory Online, that felt great. Anyways, stay true to yourself and your sense of style.
  • Denim! A really flattering pair of dark-wash jeans is a great investment piece. In fact, I haven’t bought a new pair of jeans in years because of my wise denim purchases in the past! Boot cut, skinny, and slightly flared cuts are all safe — watch out for too many trendy embellishments, though! Some of my favorite brands that keep their designs relatively simple are Seven For All Mankind, William Rast, and Rock and Republic.
  • Be smart about clothing. A $70 plain black tank top from Burberry probably won’t give you much bang for your buck. However, a classic Burberry trench coat that you’ve wanted for years will be well worth the money because it will be a closet staple for the rest of your life. I don’t see a need to drop tons of cash on things like pajamas, panties, sandals, graphic tees, or leggings authentic coach outlet online, no matter who makes them.
  • Use your head. No “it” item is ever worth sacrificing your health Coach Outlet Store Online, safety, or credit score for. I know sometimes fashion websites joke about shopping at Barney’s but living on Ramen noodles, but I personally think that is a really bad idea. No one wants to get in a Carrie Bradshaw situation where you have to hit up your friends to bail you and your closet full of designer goodies out of a tough financial bind. Come on, that’s just idiotic! No pal (or banker) will want to help you if you’re dressed better than they are. Be a responsible spender, and it will pay dividends in the long run.
Now we want to know what you think!

We all have splurged before, but how thought-out are your large purchases? What “it” items have you splurged on? Were they worth it? What rules do you follow to make sure you won’t get plagued with buyer’s remorse? What pieces are in your dream collection? Are you saving up for anything in particular right now? Continue this discussion in the comments section!

Fashion & Style Resolutions for 2009

Fashion & Style Resolutions for 2009

New Year's Resolutions

It’s almost a new year Gucci Italia, and that means a fresh start and a chance to set some new goals. Whether you’re a seasoned fashion addict or you’re still developing your own style, new year’s is also a great time to set some style resolutions for the year ahead.

Here are some style resolutions you might want to make for 2009!

* Buy more quality items and fewer cheap “fast fashion” pieces. This is one of my resolutions – I’m always tempted to buy a bunch of cheap clothing items instead of splurging on quality, but I know it’s not the right way to shop. This year, I’ve promised myself that I’ll control my H&M addiction and spend my money on fewer clothes that will last a little longer!

* Think before you buy. Do you impulse-purchase a little too often? Make it your 2009 resolution to stop and think before you make a purchase. Ask yourself “do I really need this?” and “how often will I wear it?” If you need to, resolve to wait 24 hours & see if you still want that item the next day. If you do, you’ll know it’s not just an impulse!

* Develop your own sense of style. This was one of my resolutions a few years ago, and it’s an ongoing process I work at every day. In fashion it’s so important to have your own point of view instead of blindly following trends. What’s your personal style? I wrote an article about how to find your own sense of style if you want some tips on how to get started.

* Start making your own clothes. If you’ve always thought it’d be fun to be a fashion designer, why not get started learning how to make your own clothing? Pick up a book on sewing, grab some fabric and borrow your mom’s sewing machine. You’ll save a bundle, be able to customize every piece you own, and who knows – maybe you could be the next big thing in fashion Coach Purses!

* Learn more about the fashion industry. Become a whiz at fashion industry trivia – learn about the history of all the big designers, who worked for whom Coach Outlet Stores, and even the difference between different fabrics. I just picked up a copy of The Fashion Game Book and it’s essentially a textbook on everything you could ever want to know about fashion. There are quizzes Coach Bags Outlet, pop-out pages, designer bios, quotes, and so much more. It’s amazing and highly recommended if you want to learn about the industry!

* Start documenting your style. If you want to get an accurate picture of how your style is evolving, try taking a picture of your outfit every day next year. You could keep the pics private for yourself or start a blog about your style like Rumi at Fashion Toast. Taking outfit photos daily is a great way to see how things really look on you, keep your style fresh louis vuitton bags sale, and find new ideas for how to wear things. It’s also a lot of fun!

Those are just some of my ideas – what are you going to do to make 2009 your most stylish year ever?

Fashion Essentials: Must-Haves for All-Weather Survival

Girls with Umbrellas

No matter what climate you live in, there are tons of different weather conditions you have to brave in order to get to class. Living in Ohio, we get almost everything, so I pretty much have dressing for extreme conditions down to a science.

In Nina Garcia’s book, The One Hundred (which inspired this series), she lists several items to aid in your all-weather survival: umbrellas, sun hats louis vuitton outlet online, gloves, etc. You will definitely see those items here, but this post is meant to be a bit more of a reference guide for getting ready. It’s snowing: what to wear? Look here.

I’ve grouped my essentials for weather survival into 3 of the most common weather conditions you might face, that way, if you never see snow (lucky you!), you can skip that section and hunt down the section for hot weather! Check out a few of my ideas for what to wear while braving the elements:

Rain, Rain, Go Away

1. A Pair of Puddle Hopping Boots

I’m not going to go into why rain boots are important – I think we all know why we need them! Below, I’ve featured a few cute pairs I like, along with sample outfits. If the boots below don’t do it for you, see: Get Ready for Spring: Cute Rain Boots to Fit Your Style and The CF Guide to Stylish Rain Boots for even more of our favorite options. There are so many cute pairs out there!

Rainy Day Essentials

Product Information: Outfit #1: Red rain boots – Piperlime, Printed bubble skirt – Forever 21, Navy hoodie – Old Navy, Light blue umbrella – ModCloth Outfit #2: Purple rain boots – Zappos, Skinny jeans – dELiAs, Trench – Urban Outfitters, Scarf – French Connection, Printed umbrella – Umbrellas.net

Outfit #1 was inspired by a look I spotted on Rachel Bilson recently. I like the mix of dressed-up (bubble skirt) and dressed-down (hoodie), and the hoodie is also practical if it’s on-and off sprinkling and you don’t want to carry around an umbrella.

I can’t resist a classic trench, and the high belt on the one above gives it an empire waist appeal, which is a unique cut that will set your trench apart from the rest. When I’m debating about what colors to wear with a neutral outfit my go-to is complementary colors. In Outfit #2, I went with purple and yellow: the berry color of the boots and umbrella complements the mustard yellow printed scarf.

2. Rain Jacket

When it’s raining so hard that a light trench won’t cut it, it’s time to get serious with an actual rain jacket. If you are going to be out in the rain all day, it just makes more sense to get heavy duty outerwear–you definitely don’t want to get stuck with one of those touristy ponchos people pass out. Rain jackets get a bad rep for being “too sporty”, but lucky for us, sporty is in this season. (Thanks, Alexander Wang.)

Some more tips for getting dressed on rainy days:

  • If it’s rainy but there aren’t enough puddles to justify wearing wellies, I prefer wearing leggings and a skirt or rolled-up boyfriend jeans rather than regular jeans. This is because I hate when I can feel water soaking through to my ankles! Just double up on tights or get winter leggings if it’s a bit chilly, and you’re good to go.
  • Don’t be afraid of fun brights! I typically stick to classic Hunter boots, but if you are a fan of bright, bold colors, a rainy day is the time to wear them! Umbrellas and boots come in all kinds of fun colors and patterns, and a gloomy day is the perfect opportunity to add a pop of cheery color.
  • As with dressing for all weather conditions, think function first. That said, dressing practically doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style.

Snow

3. Plenty of Scarves

Winter Wear Outfits

Product Information: Outfit #1: Striped scarf – Topshop, Grey coat – Tillys, Black skinnies – Roxy, Motorcycle snow boots – Piperlime, Blue bag – Old Navy Outfit #2: Cream scarf – Accessorize, Military coat – American Eagle, Polka-dot top – Topshop, Denim leggings – Tillys, Plaid snow boots – Love My Shoes

I couldn’t survive winter without my scarf collection! Scarves are such a cold-weather essential; they not only keep you warm but also accessorize your outfit.

I recommend owning at least one large knit scarf, like the cream one in outfit #2, as well as at least one lighter, more decorative scarf. Depending on the weather and the thickness/texture of your coat, you may need a variety of different scarves. Scarves come in all different price ranges, so you can build a small collection no matter your budget.

4. Gloves

Gloves are definitely a winter staple. You already know you need them, but you don’t have to stick to the basic black glove (unless you want to). Have fun with your gloves–let them add a little extra something to your winter wardrobe. Here are a few fun pairs of gloves that I love:

Product Information: Yellow leather gloves – Urban Outfitters Coach Outlet Online, Studded gloves – Urban Outfitters coach outlet store online shoes, Pink fingerless gloves – Ruche

More tips on dressing for snowy days:

  • Other must-haves: a great coat, boots that keep your feet warm (and look amazing), and warm socks.
  • Layering is key. While it’s freezing outside, classrooms sometimes blast the heat, so you want to make sure you have on a few lighter layers that you can put on or take off at will.
  • When it comes to coats, pick something functional and fashionable. If you tend to go for more dressy looks, you might want to consider a longer wrap or car coat. More of a casual gal? Stick to basics like pea coats or anoraks.
Hot, Hot Heat

5. A Sun Hat

summer hat looks

Product Information: Outfit #1: Straw fedora – Urban Outfitters Coach Factory Online, Blue tank dress – Forever 21, Grey cardigan – Old Navy, Sandals – Urban Outfitters, Beaded necklace – Old Navy Outfit #2: Floppy hat – French Connection, Yellow top – Anthropologie, Boyfriend Jean- Gap, Orange belt – Forever 21, Beaded sandal - Piperlime

When you are in the sun all day, it’s important to always protect your skin and eyes from the rays. One of the most fashionable ways to do it? Rock a sun hat. Fedoras are still in style for spring, and they lend a laid-back feel to anything you put on. A floppy hat, on the other hand, has a vintage look, and works great for the beach or for a day of outdoor shopping.

6. A Great Pair of Sunnies

Sunglasses add a touch of class to even the most casual of outfits, and they also protect you from the sun (and hide your over-tired eyes). While aviators are go-to classics, they won’t work for everyone. The most important thing is that your shades fit your style and face shape. ?Check out?this guide on picking the right sunglasses for you face to find out what will work for you. Here are a few of my picks:

Fossil blue sunniesAmerican Apparel sunniesfred flare sunnies

Product Information: Marbled blue shades – Fossil, Cat-eye sunglasses – American Apparel, Oversized sunnies – Fred Flare

More tips for getting dressed when it’s sunny:

  • Your local vintage or thrift store is a great place to look for sunglasses! They often have a large variety of styles at wallet-friendly prices.
  • Plain flip-flops are great (and cheap), but don’t be afraid to try something new. Gladiator sandals, wedges, or espadrilles can be just as comfy as a $5 pair of flip flops.
  • You hear it all the time, but that’s because it’s important: always wear sunscreen! If you take the time to look fashionable, you should also take the time to protect your skin. While leather handbags are in, looking like one yourself is not.
How do you dress for the elements?

Do you come from somewhere famous for its extreme weather? Do you have tips on what to wear for a snow storm? Do you sport bright and bold rain boots, or do you stick to basics? I’d love to hear from you coach outlet online store!

Dorm 101- Must-Haves for Dorm Room Organization

Dorm 101: Must-Haves for Dorm Room Organization

Organized Dorm Room

College will teach you many life lessons, but the first one I learned my freshman year was this: dorm rooms are small. My first year at Flagler, I shared a dorm with three other girls and quickly learned how?valuable?every square inch of space could be. I also discovered that the key to having more space is to be organized.

Now that my senior year has rolled around, I thought I’d share with you some of the best dorm organization items out there, in order to help you to utilize those?precious?square inches and enjoy every bit of small-space living. Also, if you’re living off-campus, no worries, these are great items for you too!

For your closet:

Closet Organization

Product Information: Pop-up Hamper, Wheeled Hamper, Slim-line Hangers, Hanging Shelves,?Expandable?Shoe Rack, Over-the-Door Shoe Bag

  • A laundry hamper is a must-have for any dorm room closet Coach Outlet, and I featured two different styles above, both of which I highly recommend. Pop-up hampers are ideal for tiny closets – the mesh material is flexible, so it can be squeezed into tight spaces. I swear by the wheeled hampers though. Sure, they take up a little more space louis vuitton handbags outlet, but not having to lug heavy clothes back and forth to the laundry room makes them worth it.
  • Slim-line hangers will give you more space for clothes because the hangers are much thinner than normal ones (hence the name). They’re also made out of a non-slip material, so your expensive top won’t slide off the hanger and end up crumpled on the floor like it could with plastic hangers.
  • Running out of room in your dresser? Hanging shelves will give you more storage for your clothing. They take up a small bit of space in your closet, but can hold tons of sweaters, jeans and other bulky items.
  • Shoe racks are ideal for dorms because it will keep all your footwear neatly organized in one place, so your shoes won’t be littered all over your closet floor. Over-the-door versions are roomy and can hold lots of shoes, but not all dorm closets have doors. So, I chose a shoe rack that expands and contracts, so you can adjust it to your specific closet size.
For your desk:

Desk Organization

Product Information: Accordion Folder, Bookends, Desk Organizer Lamp, Drawer Organizer, Dry Erase To-Do List, Desktop Drawers

  • If you retain one piece of advice from this post, I hope it’s this: invest in an?accordion?folder! Seriously, buy a good one and use it to organize all your important papers (hard-copies of research papers, bills, etc.). That way, you’ll be able to easily find everything you need in one tidy folder.
  • Bookends can be a fun way to show of your personal style and keep your textbooks in pristine condition so you can get top dollar when book buyback rolls around. And how cute are these ones from Modcloth?!
  • Since space is so limited in dorms, items that are multi-functional– like this?desk organizer lamp– are ideal. In addition to providing light, it also acts as a pencil cup and has a speaker/hook-up for your iPod!
  • A drawer?organizer will keep all your excess school supplies organized so you’ll never have to dig through a messy drawer to find staples ten minutes before your big paper is due (believe?me, I’ve been there).
  • Okay, so a dry erase to-do list isn’t exactly?necessary, but it will keep your schedule organized. Hang it near your desk, take a few minutes every Sunday to fill out your weekly schedule and you’ll never forget a deadline, event or a meeting with your advisor.
  • Desktop drawers are a perfect solution for cluttered desks and can store all of the items that always seem go missing like headphones, camera chargers and USB drives. In addition, these pretty ones will look great on your desk.
Other Storage Solutions

Other Storage Solutions

Product Information: 3-Drawer Cart, Stackable Drawer louis vuitton purses, Lined Baskets, Storage Ottoman, Over-the-Door Hooks Gucci Italia, Hanging Jewelry Roll

  • A 3-drawer cart can hold all those items you’re not quite sure about storing: sheets, hair styling tools, and even food! Plus, since it has wheels, you can easily move it around and use it as a writing surface or nightstand. I love this floral print cart – it would be a stylish addition to any dorm.
  • If you’ve run out of space in your dresser and closet,?stackable drawers are the answer. You can buy as many (or as few) as you want and you’ll have plenty of room for storing even the bulkiest of items. Another perk: these drawers can easily slide under your bed, so they won’t take up any floor space.
  • Lined baskets are an adorable and functional way to store smaller items like hair products, make-up and?toiletries.
  • A storage ottoman is a great multi-use item for dorms. You can store things in it and then pop the lid on to create instant seating for friends.
  • Although over-the-door hooks are usually designed for coats, I personally use mine for handbags. Multiple bags can be strung on each hook and the piece will still stay put, plus the bags won’t fall off.
  • A hanging jewelry roll takes up less space than a jewelry box and will keep your necklaces tangle-free. It can also easily be rolled up and thrown into a?duffel?for?impromptu?weekend trips.
What do you think?

Are you going to be living in the dorms this year? What do you think of these organizers? Upperclassmen Coach Handbags Sale, any storage advice for new college students? If you have any questions, ask away– I’ll do my best to answer. Also, remember to leave a comment with your thoughts on the article!
