As far as 50 year old Baume & Merciers go, this is a pretty cool one. Circa 1959 coach factory outlet coach outlet online, this B&M is pretty complicated
. It is a triple date (date coach outlet online, day of the week coach factory store, and month), a chronograph, AND a moonphase. The movement and the case are signed B&M, and seems to be in really good shape considering its age.
So, that brings us to the question; is this watch worth the $4750 the dealer is asking for it? We are leaning towards no, it's not. We do think that the complications (triple date, moonphase, chrono) certainly add to the value of the watch coach bags outlet, but it's still a B&M and there really isn't substantial demand for these pieces. We would like to see this watch being sold near the $2500 price point.
Does that mean it's not worth $4750 to some Baume & Mercier fan out there? Certainly not. If there is one thing we've learned with vintage watches, putting a price to a watch is really all about finding that one person who really wants it.

Here's the thing, Baume & Mercier makes some nice watches, don't get us wrong. However, they have never really made a successful jump into the real upper echelons of watchmakers. Why is this? We're not really sure, but we do know that we've featured a few on Hodinkee and not one has broken the $1500 mark.
